Libya: A War On Africa
Libya: A war on Africa
Touted as part of a war of liberation, NATOs intervention in Libya aims to undermine moves to strengthen African unity and independence
Africa the key to global economic growth: this was a refreshingly honest recent headline from the Washington Post, but hardly one that qualifies as news. African labour and resources, as any decent economic historian will tell you, have been the key to global economic growth for centuries.
When the Europeans discovered America 500 years ago, their economic system went viral. Increasingly, European powers realised that the balance of power at home would be dictated by the strength they were able to draw from their colonies abroad. Imperialism (aka capitalism) has been the fundamental hallmark of the world's economic structure ever since.
For Africa, this has meant non-stop subjection to an increasingly systematic plunder of people and resources that has been unrelenting to this day. First was the brutal kidnapping of tens of millions of Africans to replace the indigenous American workforce that had been wiped out by the Europeans. The slave trade was devastating for African economies, which were rarely able to withstand the population collapse; but the capital it created for plantation owners in the Caribbean laid the foundations for Europe's industrial revolution.
Throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, as more and more precious raw materials were found in Africa (especially tin, rubber, gold and silver), the theft of land and resources ultimately resulted in the so-called Scramble for Africa of the 1870s, when, over the course of a few years, Europeans divided up the entire continent (with the exception of Ethiopia) amongst themselves. By this point, the world's economy was increasingly becoming an integrated whole, with Africa continuing to provide the basis for European industrial development as Africans were stripped of their land and forced down gold mines and onto rubber plantations.
After World War II, the European powers, weakened by years of unremitting industrial slaughter of each other, contrived to adapt colonialism to the new conditions in which they found themselves. As national liberation movements grew in strength, the European powers confronted a new economic reality: the cost of subduing the restless natives was starting to near the level of wealth they were able to extract from them.
Their favoured solution was what former Ghanaian president Kwame Nkrumah termed neo-colonialism, handing over the formal attributes of political sovereignty to a trusted bunch of hand-picked cronies who would allow the economic exploitation of their countries to continue unabated. In other words, the idea was to adapt colonialism so that Africans themselves would be forced to shoulder the burden and cost of policing their own populations.
In practice, it wasn't that simple. All across Asia, Africa and Latin America mass movements began to demand control of their own resources, and in many places these movements managed to gain power, sometimes through guerrilla struggle, sometimes through the ballot box. This led to vicious wars by the European powers now under the leadership of their upstart protégé, the USA, to destroy such movements. This struggle, not the so- called Cold War, is what defined the history of post-war international relations.
So far, neo-colonialism has largely been a successful project for the Europeans and the US. Africa's role as a provider of cheap, often slave, labour and minerals has largely continued unabated. Poverty and disunity have been the essential ingredients that have allowed this exploitation to continue. However, both are now under serious threat.
Chinese investment in Africa over the past ten years has been building up African industry and infrastructure in a way that may begin to tackle the continent's poverty. In China, these policies have brought about unprecedented reductions in poverty and have helped to lift the country into the position it will shortly hold as the world's leading economic power. If Africa follows this model, or anything like it, the West's 500-year plunder of Africa's wealth may be nearing a close.
To prevent this threat of African development, the Europeans and the USA have responded in the only way they know how - militarily. Four years ago, the US set up a new command and control centre for the military subjugation of Africa, called AFRICOM. The problem for the US was that no African country wanted to host them; indeed, until very recently, Africa was unique in being the only continent in the world without a US military base. And this fact is in no small part thanks to the efforts of the Libyan government.
Before Gaddafi's revolution deposed the British-backed King Idris in 1969, Libya had hosted one of the world's biggest US airbases, the Wheelus Air Base; but within a year of the revolution, it had been closed down and all foreign military personnel expelled.
More recently, Gaddafi had been actively working to scupper AFRICOM. African governments that were offered money by the US to host a base were typically offered double by Gaddafi to refuse it, and in 2008 this ad hoc opposition crystallised in a formal rejection of AFRICOM by the African Union (AU).
Perhaps even more worrying for US and European domination of the continent were the huge resources that Gaddafi was channelling into African development. The Libyan government was by far the largest investor in Africas first-ever satellite, launched in 2007, which freed Africa from $500 million per year in payments to European satellite companies.
Even worse for the colonial powers, Libya had allocated $30 billion for the African Union's three big financial projects, aimed at ending African dependence on western finance. The African Investment Bank, with its headquarters in Libya, was to invest in African development without charging interest, which would have seriously threatened the International Monetary Fund's domination of Africa, a crucial pillar for keeping Africa in its impoverished position.
Gaddafi was also leading the AU's development of a new gold-backed African currency, which would have cut yet another of the strings that keep Africa at the mercy of the West, with $42 billion already allocated to this project again, much of it by Libya.
NATO's war is aimed at ending Libya's trajectory as a socialist, anti- imperialist, pan-Africanist nation in the forefront of moves to strengthen African unity and independence. The rebels have made clear their virulent racism from the very start of their insurrection, rounding up or executing thousands of black African workers and students. All the African development funds for the projects described above have been frozen by the NATO countries and are to be handed over to their hand-picked buddies in the rebel National Transitional Council (NTC) to spend instead on weapons to facilitate their war.
For Africa, the war is far from over. The African continent must recognise that NATO's lashing out is a sign of desperation, of impotence, of its inability to stop the inevitable rise of Africa onto the world stage. Africa must learn lessons from Libya, continue the drive towards pan-African unity, and continue to resist AFRICOM. Plenty of Libyans will still be with them when they do so.

American Revolution Pt 2
Natural News
There's a sense of desperation in America today. Their jobs are being exported out of the country, their health insurance is being dropped by employers, their dollars are becoming increasingly worthless with each passing day and their futures don't look very promising. They're angry, frustrated and desperate, so they take to the streets and protest. Occupy Wall Street! Occupy The Fed! Take to the streets!
It's the right thing to do, but what most protesters -- and nearly all Americans -- don't fully grasp is that nearly every powerful institution is a criminal racket. It's not just Wall Street that's operated like a criminal mob, folks: It's the U.S. Congress. It's the health care industry. It's conventional agriculture, the mainstream media, the processed food manufacturers, the government regulators and of course the entire military industrial complex.
Nearly everything around you is a criminal operation. The banks openly steal your homes while laundering money for global drug lords. The U.S. government runs illegal guns into Mexico while allowing cocaine and heroin back into the USA to be sold at pumped-up black market prices. The mainstream media broadcasts outright lies and complete fabrications as if they were fact. Much of modern medical "science" is complete quackery or fiction, funded by corporations for the purpose of expanding corporate power. The local water supply is intentionally contaminated with toxic poisons known as "fluoride," and the local food supply is tainted with other dangerous chemicals like aspartame, MSG and BPA.
Your local hospital is almost certainly involved in a medical racket that seeks to insert high-profit medical procedure charges onto patient bills, and your local nursing home most likely throws granny in the hospital for a few days in order to get triple billing from Medicare upon their return. Doctors prescribe antibiotics because they get kickbacks from the drug companies, and the medical journals are little more than science whores who have been bought and paid for by the pharmaceutical industry. And don't forget vaccines, which have become the pathway through which infectious disease is actually spread among the population using live viruses injected into innocent children (http://www.naturalnews.com/033447_I...).
Wake the heck up, people! Most of modern society is a giant con. Nearly every institution, every mega corporation, every government and nearly every politician or bureaucrat is really just a criminal mobster trying to steal your wealth or gain control over your actions and thoughts. Most institutions actually cause the very things they claim to be fighting against!
The EPA openly allows deadly toxic chemicals to be dumped into the environment (like mercury fillings from dental offices). The CDC actually promotes complete falsehoods about infectious disease in order to scare people into thinking everybody needs to get vaccinated. And then the vaccines are intentionally contaminated with live viruses in order to spread disease and make the CDC look even more important! (http://www.naturalnews.com/025760.html)
Meanwhile, the President is actively destroying the economic base of America, aided by feds who threaten business owners like Gibson Guitars which are only trying to manufacture quality American-made products. The purpose of all this? To destroy America's economy from the inside out. It is intentional. It is being engineered. The U.S. economy is supposed to collapse by design, get it?
Beyond the economy alone, the entire "war on terror" is a complete and utter hoax, having been fabricated from the very start by government insiders. From 9/11 to present-day terror, it has all been a pathetic and cowardly string of fabrications and staged events for the sole purpose of destroying freedom in America.
Nearly everything you are told by the White House, or the FDA, or the EPA -- or any government regulator -- is a complete and total lie. There is no room for truth in a system of outright tyrannical lawbreaking. That's what we have today instead of government: A cabal of criminal thugs who operate with impunity while violating laws with complete disregard for human rights or the Bill of Rights.
Did you know, for example, that the Obama administration runs a secret death panel that decides which Americans to add to a "kill list?" This kill list is then handed over to the President who decides which Americans to simply assassinate or murder. Think I'm making this up? Then why was it openly reported by Reuters? (http://www.naturalnews.com/033835_W...)
Watch this astonishing interaction between ABC News reporter
Jake Trapper and White House Spokesperson Carney, who completely excuses the Obama administration's outright murder of an American citizen with absolutely zero evidence, no due process, no trial and no proper legal justification whatsoever:
http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=1E3C8...
Do you wonder why so many people are bankrupt today? Because the financial system is designed to keep you bankrupt!
Do you wonder why voters have so little power versus the corporations today? Because the political system is designed to keep the corporations in power while keeping you enslaved.
Do you wonder why you are still paying $3 or $4 per gallon of gas? Because the energy industry is designed to keep you enslaved to high-profit energy sources while oppressing free energy technology.
Do you ever wonder why the best innovations in medicine, free energy and human consciousness are always suppressed? Because the system is designed to destroy or censor any technologies that would lend themselves to longevity, freedom or increased awareness.
Do you wonder why America remains in perpetual war with an unseen enemy? Because the whole system is designed to operate in a state of perpetual warfare so that the people can be kept in a state of constant fear while being denied their freedoms.
My only bit of wisdom to pass along in this regard is to make sure it's your OWN voice and don't let yourself be played by some organized globalist agenda that now wants to hijack the protests for their own nefarious purposes.
The essence of freedom is LIBERTY, honest money, private property rights and a system of law that applies to everyone.
YES, the globalist bankers are crooks. They probably deserve to be strung up in a public square somewhere, but even such actions should never be taken without due process and a proper trial. What's really wrong with America today is that the criminal elements are running the show, from the White House to Wall Street. And it's time the People demanded that EVERYONE abide by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. After all, didn't the President swear to protect it when he became President? So why does he now selectively ignore it?
The revolution happening right now is a revolution borne out of frustration, and although it seems to lack focus in the mixed messages heard on the street right now, it will soon coalesce into a call for justice and an end to the systems of tyranny that dominate the American landscape today.
The transition out of freedom and justice will be fraught with violence, I fear, and there will soon be Martial Law declared across our land. Be prepared for what's coming, and have no illusions that the second American revolution is now at our doorstep. I only ask: What will you do with this opportunity? Will you stand for liberty and justice when it really counts?

The cancer industry actually promotes cancer, didn't you know? The DEA runs drugs! The ATF runs guns (http://www.naturalnews.com/032934_A...). Why NATO Murdered Gaddafi
The Canadian
With nothing more than highly suspicious "evidence" of alleged "crimes against humanity" NATO (the North Atlantic Terrorist Organization) massacred thousands of innocent civilians of a free and sovereign nation and executed their popular leader Muammar Gaddafi. The real reason for Gaddafi's death was that he dared to stand up to the financial terrorists who control the IMF and the World Bank.
Gaddafi freed Libya from perpetual poverty by refusing to borrow from the international banking cartel, nationalizing Libya's oil production for the benefit of its own citizens and by providing free education, healthcare and electricity to every Libyan citizen. All Libyans received annual dividends from Libyan oil revenues worth thousands of dollars each year, gas was only $0.14 a litre, plus newly weds were given $50,000 to help them purchase a home, plus the government paid 50% of the cost of a new car.
Under Gaddafi, Libya's literacy rate went from less than 20% to over 80%. Gaddafi believed that housing was a human right. He pledged, and carried through on his promise, to house all Libyans before he housed his own parents (his father died while still living in a tent).
Gaddafi had also nearly completed a mammoth engineering project to bring fresh water from a huge underground aquifer to the surface to irrigate and create new farmland. People willing to learn farming were given free land to use, equipment, livestock and seeds for the project. Gaddafi's Great Man-Made River project was acknowledged in the 2008 Guinness World Records as being the world's largest irrigation project. Gaddafi called it the eighth wonder of the world and he financed it entirely without foreign capital.
Libya was debt free and beholden to no foreign interests. Usury was illegal and all loans were made interest-free through Libya's state-owned central bank. Gaddafi was also trying to introduce a new gold-based currency (the Gold African Dinar) throughout Africa to replace Africa's dependence on the US dollar. If Libya's plans for financial independence spread throughout Africa, the power of the IMF and World Bank to control the conditions of life on this planet would be in serious jeopardy. If he was allowed to continue with his plans, the world would soon begin to understand the Libyan economic miracle that Gaddafi had already achieved.
On July 1, 2011, 1.7 million people, or roughly 95% of the population of Tripoli, assembled in Tripoli's Green Square to protest the NATO bombing of Libya and the attacks against their leader. Watch this video and ask yourself, would a hated leader dare to travel so freely and unprotected through the streets of Tripoli?
The murder of Gaddafi by NATO is itself a crime against all humanity. If the truth was known, Gaddafi should be respected as being one of the top ten humanitarians of all time, along with Lincoln, Kennedy, Gandhi, King and Jesus himself. The saddest thing about his death is not that he was murdered by the evil, government-sanctioned, financial terrorists who decide and control the possibilities for life on this planet. The saddest thing is that over 99% of the people on this planet either don't care at all about Gaddafi, or are glad that he is gone. The power that our ruling elite have over public opinion is truly frightening. Aldous Huxley had it right. We are now living in his Brave New World.

Now that the CIA’s proxy army has murdered Gadhafi, what next for Libya?
If Washington’s plans succeed, Libya will become another American puppet state. Most of the cities, towns, and infrastructure have been destroyed by air strikes by the air forces of the US and Washington’s NATO puppets. US and European firms will now get juicy contracts, financed by US taxpayers, to rebuild Libya. The new real estate will be carefully allocated to lubricate a new ruling class picked by Washington. This will put Libya firmly under Washington’s thumb.
With Libya conquered, AFRICOM will start on the other African countries where China has energy and mineral investments. Obama has already sent US troops to Central Africa under the guise of defeating the Lord’s Resistance Army, a small insurgency against the ruling dictator-for-life. The Republican Speaker of the House, John Boehner, welcomed the prospect of yet another war by declaring that sending US troops into Central Africa “furthers US national security interests and foreign policy.” Republican Senator James Inhofe added a gallon of moral verbiage about saving “Ugandan children,” a concern the senator did not have for Libya’s children or Palestine’s, Iraq’s, Afghanistan’s and Pakistan’s.
Washington has revived the Great Power Game and is vying with China. Whereas China brings Africa investment and gifts of infrastructure, Washington sends troops, bombs and military bases. Sooner or later Washington’s aggressiveness toward China and Russia is going to explode in our faces.
Where is the money going to come from to finance Washington’s African Empire? Not from Libya’s oil. Big chunks of that have been promised to the French and British for providing cover for Washington’s latest war of naked aggression. Not from tax revenues from a collapsing US economy where unemployment, if measured correctly, is 23 percent.
With Washington’s annual budget deficit as huge as it is, the money can only come from the printing press.
Washington has already run the printing press enough to raise the consumer price index for all urban consumers (CPI-U) to 3.9% for the year (as of the end of September), the consumer price index for urban wage earners and clerical workers (CPI-W) to 4.4% for the year, and the producer price index (PPI) to 6.9% for the year.
As statistician John Williams (shadowstats.com) has shown, the official inflation measures are rigged in order to hold down cost of living adjustments to Social Security recipients, thus saving money for Washington’s wars. When measured correctly, the current rate of inflation in the US is 11.5%.
What interest rate can savers get without taking massive risks on Greek bonds? US banks pay less than one-half of one percent on FDIC insured savings deposits. Short-term US government bond funds pay essentially zero.
Thus, according to official US government statistics American savers are losing between 3.9% and 4.4% of their capital yearly. According to John Williams’ estimate of the real rate of inflation, US savers are losing 11.5% of their accumulated savings.
As retired Americans receive no interest on their savings, they are having to spend down their capital. The ability of even the most prudent retirees to survive the negative rate of interest they are receiving and the erosion by inflation of any pensions that they receive will come to an end once their accumulated assets are exhausted.
Except for Washington’s favored mega-rich, the one percent that has captured all of the income gains of recent years, the rest of America has been assigned to the trash can. Nothing whatsoever has been done for them since the financial crisis hit in December 2007. Bush and Obama, Republican and Democrat, have focused on saving the 1 percent while giving the finger to the 99 percent.
Finally, some Americans, though not enough, have caught on to the flag-waving rah-rah “patriotism” that has consigned them to the trash bin of history. They are not going down without a fight and are in the streets. Occupy Wall Street has spread. What will be the fate of this movement?
Will the snow and ice of cold weather end the protests, or send them into public buildings? How long will the local authorities, subservient to Washington as they are, tolerate the obvious signal that the population lacks any confidence whatsoever in the government?
If the protests last, especially if they grow and don’t decline, the authorities will infiltrate the protestors with police provocateurs who will fire on the police. This will be the excuse to shoot down the protestors and to arrest the survivors as “terrorists” or “domestic extremists” and to send them to the $385 million dollar camps built under US government contract by Cheney’s Halliburton.
The Amerikan Police State will have taken its next step into the Amerikan Concentration Camp State.
Meanwhile, lost in their oblivion, conservatives will continue to bemoan the ruination of the country by homosexual marriage, abortion, and “the liberal media.” Liberal organizations committed to civil liberty, such as the ACLU, will continue to rank a woman’s right to an abortion with defense of the US Constitution. Amnesty International will assist Washington in demonizing its next target for military attack while turning a blind eye to the war crimes of President Obama.
When we consider what Israel has got away with, being as it is under Washington’s bought protection--the war crimes, the murders of children, the eviction in total disregard of international law of Palestinians from their ancestral homes, the bulldozing of their houses and uprooting of their olive groves in order to move in fanatical “settlers,” the murderous invasions of Lebanon and Gaza, the wholesale slaughter of civilians--we can only conclude that Washington, Israel’s enabler, can get away with far more.
In the few opening years of the 21st century, Washington has destroyed the US Constitution, the separation of powers, international law, the accountability of government, and has sacrificed every moral principle to achieving hegemony over the world. This ambitious agenda is being attempted while simultaneously Washington removed all regulation over Wall Street, the home of massive greed, permitting Wall Street’s short-term horizon to wreck the US economy, thus destroying the economic basis for Washington’s assault on the world.
Will the US collapse in economic chaos before it rules the world?

Al Gore: The Great Lakes are they filling or evaporating? Insane for sure.
The Cypress Times
Al Gore, in much the same fashion as Rev. Billy Graham crusaded for Christianity in past decades, continues his crusade for his Church of Climatology in trying to convert infidels into believing in his Dogmatic Doctrine of Global Warming/Climate Change. His latest sermon in Detroit, Michigan came in a speech, 10/12/2011, during the annual meeting of the International Joint Commission, a joint US, Canada agency that advises both nations on shared waterways. Gore linked his GW/CC doctrine of a warming world to problems affecting the Great Lakes, saying that increasingly intense storms likely caused by GW are overwhelming waste water treatment systems in the region. Excessive nutrients and sewage are being dumped into the lakes leading to beach closings and algae blooms.
In the very same speech, Gore said GW/CC also causes more evaporation which drives lake levels down. He also said unless the Climate Crisis is solved, it could nullify recent progress toward healing the Great Lakes.
In this latest attempt to convert people to his dogmatic fanaticism, Gore can't make his mind up whether GW/CC is flooding the lakes or evaporating them. This conflicting view of his own doctrine shows a man caught up in so many lies and misrepresentations of his own theory that he no longer can distinguish between them.
Over the past year Gore has had a few instances where he has had short bouts of anger in the form of rants and raves at those who dared question him about his theories. This rage and dementia-like state he seems to be in recently assuredly stems from his inability to keep the truth about the world's weather and climate from the public. His realization that millions think he is lying for financial gain, self glorification and in getting a political climate favoring new laws which would assure him and his Green Energy investors of making billions from citizens who would then be forced to go along with the scam is the answer to his latest mental decline.
We got a great example of his hidden insanity in 2000 when he lost the election and couldn't accept it. That tantrum lasted for several months.
It's not a wonder why he acts this way since he has built his whole life around trying to convince people of a fabrication only true in his own mind and fictional characters like Shrek.
Recently, Al Gore got caught faking his Climate 101 video presented during his 24 hour interndt broadcast. Not surprising since all Global Warming/Climate Change is based on fabrication.
This particular video was demonstrating how CO2 will heat faster than air. The so called experiment used two large jars in which a miniature globe with a thermometer placed on top of it inside each jar. The jar containing air was closed tightly while the other jar had a lid with a tube injecting CO2 into it all during the experiment. Both jars were then exposed to heat from infrared light bulbs. The object was to show CO2 heating faster than air. However, the video was tampered with during the experiment as can be viewed at the following link.
http://dailycaller.com/2011/09/29/al-gore-doctored-a-video-thats-supposed-to-prove-his-global-warming-theories/
If the experiment was as elementary and sure fire as Gore made it out to be there should have been no reason to distort it. Perhaps he thought since the whole premises of GW/CC is based from distortion that this simple experiment may as well be too. Why have one truth mixed in with the rest of the smoke and mirrors.
In the coming months Gore will become more and more agitated as less and less people believe in his blatant improvable scheme. This will be evident in speeches and interviews as his temper will get away with him when confronted with skepticism, prompting many to question his sanity.
At least when Billy Graham gave his sermons and traveled the world he was preaching a religious doctrine many years old which does put some on the right path in life and makes them better human beings, not to mention at least some morals.
Gore's Church of Climatology on the other hand offers no redemption for the human soul and instead places human life as a parasite infecting the planet.
Human civilization currently lives within its technological means intellectually which means we use natural resources to maintain a modern lifestyle. Of course in the process, some species of the animal kingdom will become extinct. Areas previously undeveloped in the world will become urban areas.
This is known as evolution.

The Winter Cometh
As is usual at this time of the year, the writing always has to take a bit of a backseat due to my having to get all the jobs done that I neglected in the summer!
Having as much land as I do with only me to look after it is both a joy and a curse. I've spent the past 3 days in the 80 degree plus weather mowing the lawn (thankfully I have a ride on) and cutting back to the tree line. Then of course there is the collecting of all the brush that has fallen from the trees which has to be taken down to the burn pile for destruction. So, as exhaustion sets in, the rain starts to fall and the temperature drops to 50f, I've fired up the furnace. Thoughts naturally turn to winter and to the snow that is going to be dumped on us this year.
So, as Al Gore continues to prattle on about Global Warming it looks as though we are going to be in for a very long, cold and snowy winter (again?). The science is settled as far as I'm concerned, AGW really does stand for Al Gore's Warblings and when there is 6 feet of snow at my back door I'll feel safe in the knowledge that fat Al really does care for me from the warmth of his Ocean view home in California.
Am I allowed to use the word Cunt?

Buckle Up America!
The American Dream
Buckle Up: America Is Getting Very Angry And The Protests Are Going To Become Much More Frightening
Over the past 4 years, we have seen some unprecedented things happen in America. First we witnessed the rise of the Tea Party movement. Initially it pretty much was a true grassroots movement but now it has been mostly taken over by establishment Republicans. Now we are witnessing the rise of Occupy Wall Street. While there are some grassroots elements to it, the reality is that Occupy Wall Street seems to be pretty much controlled by the Democrats. In fact, one individual was recently told that "Ron Paul signs are not welcome here" at a recent protest.
So we have the left and the right fighting with each other like cats and dogs. The Tea Party movement and Occupy Wall Street both pretty much hate each other.
Meanwhile, those that control both political parties are enjoying the view.
But the people that are expressing their anger through protest movements such as Occupy Wall Street are not going to be content with the status quo for long.
The truth is that there is a lot of anger in the United States today, and that anger is rapidly growing. Millions upon millions of Americans are deeply upset about the economy and about our financial system.
Right now, protests by both the Tea Party movement and Occupy Wall Street have been mostly peaceful.
But that will not last indefinitely.
In fact, there are already signs that Occupy Wall Street protesters are not content with simply sitting in the park and banging on drums.
For example, protesters stormed the Senate Hart Office Building in Washington D.C. today. A handful of protesters were arrested.
Also, more than 50 protesters from the Occupy Boston movement were arrested today when they would not do what police were ordering them to do.
But most notable of all was the march to the homes of certain millionaires up in New York. Earlier today, Occupy Wall Street protesters marched to the homes of Jamie Dimon, David Koch, John Paulson, Howard Milstein, and Rupert Murdoch.
Needless to say, that is going to seriously upset some people.
The home protests were not spontaneous. The truth is that they were highly organized. Organizers such as SEIU board member Stephen Lerner have been talking about them for quite some time. In fact, you can hear him discussing plans for the upcoming protests at the homes of these millionaires back on October 3rd right here.
There is a lot about Occupy Wall Street that can be criticized (just check out this article), but one thing that Occupy Wall Street is actually doing right is that it is focusing on the role of money in politics.
The big financial powers spend hundreds of millions of dollars on political campaigns. Just check out this infographic. All of that money buys a lot of influence over the political process. If it didn't, the big financial powers would not be spending that kind of money.
But the big financial powers are not just spending money on political campaigns. It has now come out that the big Wall Street banks can order New York City police officers just like they would order pizzas. In fact, over a million dollars is going to be spent this way just this year alone.
A recent article that was posted on counterpunch.org detailed how this works....
One of the ingenious methods that has remained below the public’s radar was started by the Rudy Giuliani administration in New York City in 1998. It’s called the Paid Detail Unit and it allows the New York Stock Exchange and Wall Street corporations, including those repeatedly charged with crimes, to order up a flank of New York’s finest with the ease of dialing the deli for a pastrami on rye.So expect the big Wall Street banks to be sending in orders for huge numbers of New York City cops to protect them from the half-crazed Occupy Wall Street protesters.
The corporations pay an average of $37 an hour (no medical, no pension benefit, no overtime pay) for a member of the NYPD, with gun, handcuffs and the ability to arrest. The officer is indemnified by the taxpayer, not the corporation.
New York City gets a 10 percent administrative fee on top of the $37 per hour paid to the police. The City’s 2011 budget called for $1,184,000 in Paid Detail fees, meaning private corporations were paying wages of $11.8 million to police participating in the Paid Detail Unit. The program has more than doubled in revenue to the city since 2002.
Sadly, if recent poll numbers are any indication, the anger of the American people is not going to abate any time soon....
*According to Gallup, the percentage of Americans that lack confidence in U.S. banks is now at an all-time high of 36%.
*According to a recent Washington Post-ABC News poll, 90 percent of Americans believe that the economy is performing poorly and approximately 80 percent of Americans believe that it is "difficult" to find a job right now.
*According to a recent Rasmussen survey, 48 percent of all Americans believe that reductions in government spending are "at least somewhat likely" to result in civil unrest inside the United States.
*Another recent survey found that 73 percent of all Americans believe that the nation is "on the wrong track".
*According to a recent CBS News/New York Times poll, Congress has a disapproval rating of 82%.
*A recent Rasmussen survey found that 85 percent of Americans believe that members of Congress "are more interested in helping their own careers than in helping other people", and that same survey found that 46 percent of the American people believe that most members of Congress are corrupt.
*According to a different Rasmussen survey, only 17 percent of all Americans now believe that the U.S. government has the consent of the governed.
*A recent Washington Post poll found that 78 percent of Americans are dissatisfied "with the way this country’s political system is working" and that only 26 percent of Americans now believe that the federal government can solve the economic problems that we are facing.
So what does all of that add up to?
It adds up to a U.S. population that is very frustrated and that is looking for outlets for that frustration.
As the U.S. economy continues to fall apart, that frustration is going to continue to rise.
What we are seeing all across America is only the beginning. We are going to see protest movements and explosions of anger that we can't even imagine right now.
Dark days are coming for America.
You better buckle up.

Amanda Knox
Judge Claudio Pratillo Hellmann, left, reads the verdict at the appeal trial of Amanda Knox, in Perugia. Photograph: Alessandro Bianchi/Reuters
The judge who presided at the trial of Amanda Knox and her former Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, has reportedly said they may be guilty after all.
Speaking just two days after he and his fellow judges handed down a full acquittal on appeal, Judge Claudio Pratillo Hellmann, said the court's verdict "is the result of the truth that was created in the proceedings. But the real truth may be different. They may be responsible, but the evidence is not there."
The 69 year-old judge was speaking to the Corriere della Sera newspaper in the latest of several interviews he has given to media organisations since reading out the verdict on Monday night. On Wednesday, he had already begun to muddy the waters, telling another interviewer: "This will remain an unsolved truth. No one can say how things went."
Hellmann's remarks were all the more unexpected because he and the other judges could have reached a less clear-cut acquittal. Italian courts have ruling options in which the appellants are acquitted for lack of evidence – a verdict similar to "not proven" in Scottish law.
Monday night's decision was the climax of a dramatic and at times searingly acrimonious appeal that attracted global attention. It was reached by Judge Hellmann and a second professional judge sitting alongside six lay judges drawn by ballot from among the public.
The acquittal of Knox and Sollecito meant that the only person left in jail for the 2007 murder of the British student Meredith Kercher is Rudy Guede, an Ivory Coast-born drugs peddler. He admitted he was in the house on the night she died, but denied he killed her. Guede is serving a 16-year sentence after opting for a fast-track trial.
Hellmann said: "I cannot affirm that Rudy Guede is the only one who knows what happened that night." But he added: "He certainly knows and hasn't said. Perhaps the two [other] accused, Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito, also know."
Commenting on protests outside the court in Perugia after the verdict was announced, the judge observed that many Italians had already decided on Knox's guilt. "I think it stems from [her] American nationality," he said.
Hellmann added that he was sorry to see the prosecutors had taken the outcome as a defeat. "If I had been in their place, with the elements they had, I would have done the same," he said.
The prosecutor who led the investigation, Giuliano Mignini, has indicated that he wants to contest the court's decision in Italy's highest appeals tribunal. But the court, in Rome, normally deals only with points of law and procedure.
